Creating an end portal in Minecraft Creative mode is one of the most iconic building projects a player can undertake. While the frames must be placed in a specific orientation, the eyes of ender can be easily obtained by crafting them using ender pearls and blaze powder from the Nether.
Constructing the Portal Frame
The physical structure of the end portal is circular, consisting of a ring of end portal frames standing upright. The frames must be placed in a 5x5 square, leaving the center 3x3 area empty. Each frame block has a distinctive front face that must face inward toward the center to properly form the portal. Precision is key, as misaligned frames will prevent activation even when all eyes are inserted.
Place the first end portal frame on the ground.
Rotate it so the front portal eye faces the center of the planned structure.
Continue placing the remaining frames in a circle, maintaining consistent inward orientation.
Leave a 3x3 gap in the middle of the ring.
Ensure the structure forms a perfect circle with no gaps or overlaps.
Activating the Portal
Once the frame is complete, the next step is to insert the eyes of ender into each frame block. Right-clicking on a frame with an eye in hand will place the eye and lock it into place. As you fill all twelve frames, the portal will begin to shimmer with purple particles, signaling that it is active. Standing within the central 3x3 area while the portal is active will transport you to the End dimension.
