12 eyes of ender, crafted using blaze powder and ender pearls.

Locating the Stronghold
Before assembling the portal, the stronghold must be discovered, as it provides the specific location where the portal frame is valid. Utilizing the eyes of ender is the most effective method for triangulating this underground structure.
Activation Strategy
Players should throw the eyes into the air to observe their descent, marking the trajectory toward the hidden stronghold. This step reduces the search radius significantly, saving time and resources that would otherwise be wasted exploring vast underground caverns.
Constructing the Frame
Once the stronghold is located, the player must arrange the obsidian blocks into a specific pattern. The frame requires a 5x4 rectangle, leaving the top center position empty to complete the portal gateway.
Placing the Eyes
After the obsidian structure is complete, the eyes of ender must be inserted into the frame blocks. A total of 12 eyes are required, with each eye occupying one of the 12 outer obsidian blocks to activate the portal. Initiating the Gateway The portal activates when all eyes are inserted, emitting a distinctive purple glow that fills the interior of the frame.
