Essential Preparation and Safety

Removing the Bottom Panel
The front glass and back panel are bonded together, so the process begins by separating the screen from the frame. A suction cup provides the initial grip to lift the screen slightly. You must then slide a pentalobe screwdriver along the side edges to cut through the adhesive securing the display.
Exercise caution when lifting the display assembly. The volume buttons and the Lightning port cable remain connected, so hinge the screen upward at a safe angle. This step reveals the internal frame and the battery connector hidden beneath the display ribbon cables.
Disconnecting Internal Connectors
