Seeing your own posts on Facebook is a simple process, yet it can feel confusing when the platform’s interface changes. Whether you are reviewing content you shared yesterday or checking a post from months ago, Facebook provides several direct paths to locate your activity. This guide walks through the most reliable methods to find everything you have shared on your timeline and beyond.
Check Your Profile Timeline
The most straightforward way to see your own posts is to visit your Profile timeline. When you are on your own Profile, you will see all of the posts, photos, and updates you have shared, arranged in reverse chronological order. You can scroll through this feed to review old posts, and you also have the option to filter specific types of content using the icons above your cover photo.
Use the Posts Tab on Your Profile
To refine your view and see only your posts, tap or click the "Posts" tab located below your cover photo. This tab filters out photos, videos, and other media types, showing only text updates, links, and status posts you have created. It acts like a personal archive, making it easy to scan through your written updates without sifting through photos or shared content.
Utilize the Activity Log
For a more organized and powerful tool, use the Activity Log. You can access it by clicking the three dots on your cover photo and selecting "Activity Log," or by visiting your Profile and finding the link below your Posts tab. The Activity Log categorizes your activity by year and type, allowing you to filter specifically for "Your Posts" to see every update you have ever published.
Filter by Date and Category
Inside the Activity Log, you can narrow down results using the filters on the left-hand side. Selecting "Posts" and then adjusting the date range is helpful if you are trying to find a specific post from a particular month or year. This method is particularly effective if you have been active on the platform for a long time and your timeline is cluttered with older content.
Search for Your Own Posts
Facebook’s search bar at the top of the screen can also serve as a shortcut to your content. Start typing your name, and when your Profile appears, hit "Enter." Once on your Profile, you can type keywords related to the post into the search bar at the top of the Posts tab. This is a fast way to locate a specific update without scrolling through an entire year of activity.
Review Posts You Are Tagged In
Sometimes, what you consider "your" post might actually be a photo or update where you are tagged by a friend. To see these, navigate to your Profile and look for the "Photos of You" or "Posts you’re tagged in" sections. While these are not originally created by you, they appear in your broader post history and are worth reviewing to get a complete picture of your online presence.
